Karim Alaoui
Owner of City Café, City Café To Go and soon to be open City Café To Go Gourmet and Wine.
Karim Alaoui has graced the Dallas culinary scene with his fine service and professionalism for almost two decades, and is known for treating customers like royalty. He continues that tradition at his newly acquired City Café on Lovers Lane, in the prestigious neighborhood of Highland Park.
Diners were greeted by Karim at Bistro A, where he opened and managed the Snider Plaza restaurant with chef Avner Samuel in 1998. Karim was also in management for Foodstar Restaurant Group, overseeing Mediterraneo and Toscana for nearly five years. In the early 90’s, he was in operations for the now closed Chianti’s, a place he calls “one of the city’s best kept secrets”, General Manager of Lombardi Mare and now owner of the long standing icon restaurant, City Café and City Café To Go. He will soon open a new retail location next to City Café called City Café Gourmet and Wine alongside the expansion of neighborhood favorite, City Café To Go.
Karim is from Morocco, and started his career as a chef. He attended culinary school in Belgium, and held an internship at the famed La Tour Montparnasse in Paris, France.
When he joined his family here in the U.S., his first job was the perfect one for him: he was a cultural representative at Disney World, where he perfected his unsurpassed people skills as a young ambassador to the millions of guests who visited the theme park.
Guests now experience Karim’s gracious smile and manners at City Café, ensuring them them that they will have the most memorable evening.
