Oh My - we moved away from Dallas and just came back to try one of our favorites. It is THE best restaurant in town. The service us beyond anything you could ask for and the food was amazing. We will be back next week.

Great experience! Food was excellent. I had grilled salmon, red potatoes, and green beans. Someone in our group of 5 had fried chicken liver salad. Not for me, but she said it was delicious. Service was excellent. We had two desserts - bread pudding and an angel food cake with caramel cream filling and caramelized coffee topping. Both great. We brought some home.
Another outstanding evening from start to finish! Attentive service, delicious meal and could actually carry on on a conversation without having to shout! Truly a rarity these days!!!!
Our favorite Dallas restaurant. Excellent after years and years. We used to live in Dallas and ate at City Cafe twice a week for a decade. Now we are there whenever we return to Dallas, about three times a year. We had excellent meals and service two days in a row this week. Yes, the quality is still great. Service tops! Easy to find gluten free meals. Many interesting choices on menu. New items and old favorites. Karim is a lovely caring man, who loves to take care of all of his restaurant patrons. And it is still quiet and easy for conversation.
This time my family went for Easter. Everyone thought their food was delicious. The staff was wonderful, attentive but not over bearing. It is a quiet and elegant place, but children were fully welcomed and were not made to feel out of place.

We had our wedding reception there 27 years ago and have been returning ever since. For 27 years their food has been fabulous! We have never been disappointed, and we have always had a wonderful experience. The waiter was exceptional, giving us recommendation on wine and other parings! You will not regret your visit!
My parents have been coming here for years, but I was just recently re-introduced to the excellence that is a dinner at City Cafe. Karim, our Steward, and the staff were fantastic, and they guided us through a wonderful evening, from wine selections to specials, then dessert and after-dinner drinks. A group of high school friends meet here during the Christmas holidays to reconnect and have fun. We have been treated so well here. There is a private room which allows us plenty of space to visit. The meal is always delicious. The crab cakes with asparagus and potatoes is my favorite. Can't wait until next year! Hint: The parking garage can be a bit tricky so I use the valet.
Wow! We just had an excellent experience at City Cafe. It had been about 10 years since we were last there. The dining room has been completely remodeled. I'd describe it as contemporary chic. A bonus, it is quiet enough that you can actually hear your dinner companions. The host recommend an excellent rose for me on this hot Dallas night. It was exactly what I wanted, and he worked from me telling him that "It is hot. Give me something for hot." Wonderful. We then enjoyed the hummus trio (homemade) and grilled pita bread. Then, hubby had the scallops and I had the halibut special. Again, flawless. We ended with their signature dessert, which I would describe as angel food toffee cake. The service was excellent and everyone seemed genuinely interested in whether we were enjoying it all. We will be back soon, and you should check it out.
WOW! We are thrilled to have found this place! It is a REAL restaurant!! Each dish was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable! Plus, you can actually carry on a conversation with the people at your table without having to yell at them, as in so many restaurants. The location is very unassuming. In fact, our daughter arrived before we did, and thought it was just a diner. They have a to-go bistro next door to the actual restaurant. Her eyes got pretty big when we walked into the restaurant. It's a totally different atmosphere. I can't imagine anybody being disappointed here. Karim and his staff do everything they can to make your experience enjoyable. They have complimentary valet parking, too, so you don't have to worry about a thing! AMAZING find!!
As always, the food was excellent. The waitstaff was attentive and helpful. Most of all this is a restaurant with a quiet, relaxing environment where you can enjoy wonderful conversation with a wonderful meal. One of our go to places.

City Cafe meets the true definition of Neighborhood Gem. Staff is extremely friendly and provided exceptional service. We were quickly offered suggestions on wine and were not rushed as we enjoyed a longer dinner visiting with friends. The noise level is soft so it's a great place to visit and hear others. Food is exceptional. I get something new every time -- my husband has the cabbage salad every time and it's superb! The accommodate what you and your party want and do so with a smile! Highly recommend!

You can't go wrong with City Cafe. The ambiance is intimate, the food is superb, and the staff is truly professional. We loved it so much we had our rehearsal dinner there - and it was lovely. It's more than a meal, it's a great way to spend a romantic evening. And, if you like caramel, there is a dessert that is like no other!

Picked this place for a business meeting where we were hoping for a quiet place to chat and have a great lunch. This place is perfect. I'll be taking my wife here for date night now! The food was fantastic.
A special place for a special occasion. My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at City Cafe with an early dinner. The meal was superb, and the staff was incredibly attentive. We were even served a special dessert to top off our evening, Highly recommended!
Best place to have a date!!! My boyfriend took me on a date to this restaurant, I never expected to be this good perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner he ordered the scallops and a beet and apple salad and I had the sea bass and the warm cabbage salad, the server suggested wine for us and we loved it, service was great and overall I would say this place is so far one of my favorites. Would I come back?? Of course!!!
This is the third time I have been to City Café in the past few months and it is so pleasant for lunch, dinner and brunch. At my age I have a hearing problem in some places where the noise level is high, but this café is perfect for a conversation with one or a group. One was a special occasion with 7 people and the service was great, food excellent and everyone enjoyed the evening. Two other time I was in a smaller group for dinner and there was time to visit without a lot of service people being sure everything was fine. There was no rush to have us leave the table for other clients. Perfect place to have a lovely meal and great visit.
I was looking for a quite place to visit with friends over a great meal and excellent wine. City Cafe turned out to be a perfect spot. The food was excellent, the wine list extensive and the service was very relaxed, friendly and helpful in a way that made my party feel we had been regulars for years. Food prepared perfectly. Classical gourmet menu items along with more modern fare. Pricing reasonable considering excellent quality. Impressive service. A place to go for an unhurried evening of food with good conversation. Definitely recommend.
